Non-revenue water is water that was treated and "lost" in the pipe network because of leaks and pilferage. An important Philippine water and wastewater service provider has been focusing on reducing non-revenue water (NRW) for many years. Due to targeted initiatives in water loss recovery and the application of state-of-the-art leak detection equipment, the company has brought DMA NRW down to an average of 29.78 percent in 2018 from 66 percent in 2006.
