After the oil is produced and processed at the oil field, the crude oil is transferred to the pumping station.
If there is a need to meter the crude oil at the transfer point, installing a flow measurement system without interfering with the supply is a challenge. Flow meter technology would need to be capable of performing reliably, even in extremely hot weather, be easy to use, and demonstrate excellent accuracy. It is also essential that there is not even a partial interruption to the operation of the system, to allow a continuous delivery of crude oil on the line.
